Guatemala's Campaign Violence
The London Telegraph published an excellent article that sums up the violence in Guatemala City leading up to the September 9 election. More than 40 candidates and party members have been murdered in recent months. The Boston Globe published an article on August 9 regarding Guatemala's election violence, as well.
It's an interesting and depressing time to be in Guate. I'm hoping the best comes out of the upcoming elections and the winner is able to make the changes necessary to bring improved law and order to Guatemala.
