Kite Runner Movie Review

First of all, if you haven't read the Kite Runner by Khalid Hosseini, you must run to the nearest Barnes and Noble to pick up a copy. It's definitely a C-PID (can't-put-it-down) book that will put you through a variety of emotions - joy, disgust, fear, sadness and triumph.
The story is set in late 1970s Afghanistan where a young boy and his wealthy bookstore owner father flee to Pakistan and finally California when the Russians arrive. Amir returns to Pakistan as a young adult to visit his father's dying friend and ends up taking one last journey to Kabul to save a boy in the midst of Taliban rule.
It's a fascinating look into Afghani culture and the drastic changes the country has gone through in such a short time.
The movie did a phenomenal job accurately following the book and brought me to tears on numerous occasions. A must see film!!
