Market at San Cristobal

Erika and I headed to San Cristobal to do a little shopping. She'd never been because she's new to the American School Foundation of Chiapas, arriving from the Canadian side of Niagara Falls after Christmas break to take over one of the kindergarten positions.

San Cristobal is in the mountains, so the air is cool and crisp, especially during the winter months. There are a lot of hippies from North America, Europe and Australia who have settled here to sell their wares and have a relaxing, non-stressful life.
San Cristobal is a great place for us to spend our weekends away from the noise of the Tuxtla streets. It's only a 45 minute (35 pesos = $3.50) combi ride up into the mountains and it's an excellent place to find great deals and delicious restaurants.
